Teeth Cleaning Littleton

What to Expect During Your Teeth Cleaning?

We will first take X-rays of your teeth and mouth to help identify decay, plaque buildup, bone loss, or other issues affecting your oral health. The hygienist will then clean your teeth using special tools designed for this job. The procedure includes scraping off all of the plaque on your teeth. After your teeth have been cleaned, the hygienist will go over proper oral hygiene techniques with you so you can maintain your healthy smile at home. Maintaining good oral hygiene can help keep health risks at bay so you can live a long and happy life!

Once your teeth have been cleaned, it will be time for your checkup with our dentist. During this part of the appointment, our dentist will examine your mouth for any signs of gum disease, oral cancer, cavities, teeth grinding, and more. If you have any symptoms of these issues, our dentist will discuss treatment options with you to help get you back to good oral health. In many cases, if caught early, we can reverse the effects of dental issues. If left untreated, however, they could lead to more severe health problems.

The Benefits of Regular Teeth Cleaning in Littleton

General routine teeth cleanings are essential to keep your teeth healthy. The acids in plaque can damage your enamel when you eat many sugary foods or drink beverages like coffee, wine, or soda. This can lead to cavities and tooth decay. To keep your smile looking and feeling great for years to come, brush your teeth twice daily and get regular cleanings every six months.

Getting your teeth professionally cleaned regularly can also help you prevent other health issues like heart disease and diabetes.

Visit Blue Sage Dental at 10354 W Chatfield Ave #100, Littleton, CO 80127, or call (303) 973-1112 to learn more about the benefits of a regular teeth cleaning in Littleton. Scheduling regular appointments with our dentist is the best way to ensure lasting oral health and prevent more serious issues from developing in the first place.

A Direct Impact on Your Health

Cancer checks and poor periodontal health have a direct, medically proven link to an increased risk of heart attacks, strokes, dementia, Alzheimer’s, kidney failure, erectile dysfunction, and atrial fibrillation. Dr. Kutis sees patients daily who either suffer from these issues or have loved ones who do. Porphyromonas gingivalis (PG), the main bacteria found exclusively in periodontal disease, alters smooth muscle cells in arteries and accelerates the buildup of soft plaque, directly linked to all of the conditions above.

The most critical part of a dental cleaning is the cancer exam. X-rays aren’t just for checking cavities and periodontal pockets, they are a crucial tool for detecting oral, head, and neck cancer. Dr. Kutis has diagnosed cancerous lesions, cysts, and tumors, reinforcing the importance of routine exams, X-rays, and preventive care
