We’re quickly approaching the end of 2017, and with it we’re getting ready to close the book on one crazy year. But if you have unused dental insurance benefits remaining when the clock strikes 12 on New Year’s Eve, you’re also saying goodbye to potentially hundreds of dollars worth of dental care. Your Ken Caryl dentist can help you rescue those benefits — all for the good of your oral health AND your wallet.
The Clock Is Ticking on Your Benefits
Dental insurance plans are set on a calendar year — and most do not roll over from one year to the next. That means any money you have remaining at the end of 2017 will not carry over to 2018. The same goes for unused funds in a health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA).
Fee-for-service plans work with a monthly premium that averages at about $50. In exchange for this amount, you may be eligible for somewhere around $1,000 to $1,500 worth of care after you have met your deductible.
How We Can Help You Save
If you have dental insurance, our team will provide a verification of benefits to find out whether or not you have met your deductible and which treatments you are eligible for if so. Then, we will examine your treatment plan to determine what you might benefit from most.
Some of the advice we may provide includes…
- Taking care of a checkup and cleaning with x-rays, if you haven’t had two of these preventive appointments in 2017.
- Completing any unfinished treatment plans.
- Getting started on necessary dental work.
- Scheduling a 2018 checkup before the year’s end, if possible — doing so will save this money for next year, when you may need it more.
- Investing in a new sports guard or mouth guard for bruxism, if they are covered under your plan.
Our office files and processes all dental insurance claims, and we are pleased to be a Delta Dental Premier provider. We’re also always accepting new patients — just like you!
This month is busy at Blue Sage Dental, so don’t wait to get in touch with our office for the most convenient scheduling. And, because many treatment plans take place over the course of two or more visits to the dentist, getting started today will ensure that we have enough time to complete your treatment before the year is up. We can’t wait to help you make the most out of your dental insurance… all in the interest of your healthy, long-lasting smile!
